Health Equity North celebrates a year of success
Today (Wednesday April 17, 2024) we are celebrating Health Equity North’s one-year anniversary. We are taking the opportunity to reflect on the reach and impact of our work within the health policy space.
In just 12 months we have:
- Published five reports and two research papers centring around health inequalities in the North
- Had our work cited in two Westminster debates and mentioned in Parliament on over 20 occasions
- Had two academic co-directors give evidence to the COVID-19 Inquiry
- Contributed to numerous high profile events alongside Ministers and Shadow Ministers
- Had over 50 social media mentions from influential people including Shadow Ministers, MPs, and national journalists
- Hosted events at political Party Conferences
- Secured an award nomination from BioNow
- Had our research covered by leading national media including BBC Breakfast, BBC 4’s Today programme, The Guardian, The Financial Times, The Daily Telegraph, as well as extensive regional coverage with The Yorkshire Post, The Journal, the Manchester Evening News, local broadcast outlets and much more.
Hannah Davies, Executive Director of Health Equity North, said: “When you consider the breadth of work we have successfully undertaken it is an understatement to say I am immensely proud of everything that we have achieved.
“This momentum will continue at pace as we enter our second year. We have an incredibly busy few months ahead with three new reports due to be launched soon and plans for another party conference season already well underway.
“I want to thank everyone who has supported Health Equity North during our first 12 months, and we look forward to what we can achieve together in the year ahead.”
